So I haven't touched or logged into WoW since last December and when I tried to patch I kept getting an error along the lines of "Failed to patch try again later". So I decided to just download the patch from a mirror and when I double-click on it to install it does nothing - won't launch and the little windows circle thinking thing goes for a second and stops. I tried launching the game and it then starts the blizzard downloader and recognizes that I have the patch already and fills up the downloead bar in a few seconds and then when it goes on to the install step same shit - nothing happens.

So I decided to just uninstall WoW and when I move out in a few hours and go home I'll reinstall fresh (or try to). I'm worried that when I try to reinstall nothing will happen once again because....

I downloaded the SC 2 beta last night and when I run the installer its the same thing as WoW - nothing happens at all. Windows 7 prompts me with the whole "do you want to allow this program to make changes" and then nothing will happen.

Any idea why this might be happening? Starting to look like I might have to completely reinstall windows.....sigh.

Nah nothing like that is what's going on. I'm on the admin account, I've tried running shit as admin and all that crap. I don't even have WoW installed right now and SC 2 installer still won't launch. It's something more complicated than running as admin. or internet connectivity.

The only thing I can think of is back a few patchs ago I started a patch, and didn't let it finish.

Now when I went back to restart it up I was getting some error not letting me patch, so I went into my file and deleted the latest patch file ( mine defiantly was a partial patch due to its size)

But take a look and see if thats your case to.

Edit----

You run in windows 7

Which folder is your

World of Warcraft Folder in

and your

Star Craft II beta. ty

I had my WoW folder in Program Data and I tried moving it to Program Files but that didn't work. I deleted all old patches etc like you mentioned Fusa, but that didn't help any.

I downloaded the SC2 Beta folder to the desktop, since it won't install there is no installation folder anywhere.

I'm about to try and reinstall WoW right now so we'll see what happens.

And no Blake I'm not cool enough. I'm just using Physics' key.

and sigh, I pop in the DVD, autoplay starts up, I click on Run Installer.exe and nothing happens yet again. I've tried other programs and they install just fine. It's only an issue with blizzard's Installer.exe files.

If I got to task manager I can see Installer.exe for Blizzard running too.

Nuch, make sure you put your

World of Warcraft folder in

C://Users/Public/Games.

You should also have your sc2 in there. If it causes you any trouble there run as admin.

If you use any other folder except the users/public it will cause you problems

I have it in that folder and no dice. Run as admin does no good. I've tried making a second user account with admin and nothing. I've tried running in safe mode and nothing. I've tried taking owndership and nothing.

very odd if you can't install it into public/games =S Sorry sounds like a different issue.
