rursusferre 08-15-2013 04:05 PM

I have no played any of these games, but this trailer did look amazing.

Fusa 08-15-2013 04:18 PM

now this video, this is a fucking amazing video. My cock was in my hand the whole time

Gogan 08-15-2013 04:52 PM

Wow

Quintilian 08-15-2013 09:41 PM

The first Witcher is kind of an acquired taste. The combat is a little janky, but the storyline, voice acting and old school RPG flavor to it is amazing. Hard to believe that it was built on a modified Neverwinter Nights Engine.

Witcher 2 is one of the best RPG's I've played. Especially cause it's almost two games. At the end of the first act you get to make a choice, and it's basically two enitrely serperate games after that. Different characters, stories, quests, everything. It's pretty amazing.

3 is supposed to be a lot more open world, Skyrim esque, and looks awesome.

Also, CDProjekt Red adds lots of DLC.. for free. They keep updating the games with awesome additions... for free. They recently added a HUGE mod pack, done by official designers on the game to add animations, combat tuning and tons of other stuff.

For free. You can usually get both games for like 5$ on any major sale.

There's the Witcher 2 trailer.

I want cyberpunk 2077 but this looks amazing.

McGrupp 09-24-2013 08:46 PM

This is arguably one of the best RPG series ever made (up there with dragon age orignial, demon/dark souls, etc.). Yes, the first one is a little rough around the edges (combat/interface), but the story is bar none. The 2nd one has over 150 hours of gameplay (Think I have 240+) with multiple endings and makes good on everything. Make sure to save your favorite play-through separately so you can use it for the 3rd installment =)

Sorry for the thread necro but...

They finally set a release date for this, it looks like an amazing game.

Cool, I need to play the first ones before this comes out and after I finish DS2. Plenty of time.

Pretty badass, I hope the movie is like this.

edit - Read first three books, working on four now, nice knowing all the backstory even though the book universe and the game universe are different. Tons of stuff from the books influenced the games story / backstory though, so it's pretty cool to know who these characters are and their past.

Fusa 10-26-2014 03:03 AM

Ohhh,

The Law of Surprise.

Delayed till may 19th

McGrupp 12-08-2014 02:32 PM

Oh No

Gogan 12-08-2014 03:19 PM

Gives you more time to finish DA3.

Gogan 05-19-2015 08:36 PM

Anyone playing?

McGrupp 05-19-2015 09:06 PM

Definitely! Beautiful so far. Wishing I had an Xbox controller maybe? Combat controls are tough!

Yooxra 05-20-2015 10:12 AM

Not yet, but picking up soon.

Rottenzombie 05-20-2015 05:30 PM

Destiny expansion came out yesterday, fixed a ton of cool/good shit. Gonna wait till I see a used copy of Witcher 3. But I really want to play it!

McGrupp 05-22-2015 08:00 PM

Noticed several familiar voice-overs. A couple Game of Thrones actors I believe...Tywin and Robert's voices are certainly there on key NPC's.

The story gains momentum as you progress. Truly spectacular so far. Don't hesitate any longer friends.

edit: confimred Charles Dance, but not Mark Addy. Sure sounds like him (and the NPC's appearance would make complete sense!)

McGrupp 06-02-2015 09:51 PM

10/10

A few small bugs still exist, but the gameplay is overwhelmingly phenomenal.

If you haven't done yourselves the favor, dive into this. There is no better RPG experience than in the Witcher series.

Gogan 06-03-2015 12:22 PM

I really really want to. Just gotta get through FFXIV and the xpac first. I think W3 will be my next game, but the list keeps getting longer and longer:

FFXIV: Heavensward
finish Pillars of Eternity
re-play Final Fantasy 4, 8, 9 (never finished them)
Final Fantasy 5, 10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2
XCOM
finish remaining classes in SWTOR
Fallout 3, New Vegas
Wasteland 2
finish ToME
Portal, Portal 2
Ori and the Blind Forest
finish Torment: Planescape (yeah, I *really* late to this one)
finish Legend of Grimrock
Legend of Grimrock 2

Many of those are games I bought on Steam and never got around to playing. I really need to take a year off (at least, probably more) to catch up on everything.

McGrupp 06-04-2015 07:45 AM

Legend of Grimrock 2 is 5.99 on GOG.com today FYI
There is an awesome mod that really improves Planescape to a more modern state (resolution, etc.) Made it much more enjoyable when I replayed it last year. http://www.gog.com/news/mod_spotligh...ent_mods_guide
The later FF games suffer in story, but make up with visuals. Some of the best artwork I've seen to date.
Quite a list, enjoy!

Gogan 06-04-2015 11:28 AM

Sweet, thanks for the Torment link. I tried playing it not too long ago and the graphics were kinda rough to look past.

The FF games are hard to go back to, especially the later ones (8,9,10) mostly because of the graphics. They're almost unplayably bad on my LCD monitors. My plasma TV is better, probably because it's lower resolution and the "pixels" aren't as sharply defined as LCD. I even thought about finding an old, cheap, small CRT TV just to play them, but I think the plasma is good enough. FF4 holds up surprisingly well.
