My project
I know it's been a few months now (sorry), but I've talked to a few of you about my Masters thesis that's finally coming together (title: Public Gaming: eSport and Event Marketing in the Experience Economy). I'm now focusing on the last part of my data collection, which is interviews. I recall a few of you suggesting you might be able to add insight into it, so I figured I'd post here as an open invitation in case anyone wants to participate. Also, if you know someone who might be willing to contribute (18+) don't hesitate to pass this along.
Based on the nature of the research, there is a broad scope of who can inform the project based on their experiences, including but not limited to: - Anyone who has played games competitively on a public level (local/regional/international tournaments etc.) - Anyone else involved in the eSport community, whether an organizer, a fan who follows pro gaming, or someone involved in sponsorship - People who attend or have played at arcades, PC cafes, or LAN events - anyone who attends public game industry events (E3, Blizzcon, Video Games Live etc) - Someone who meets with other gamers publicly (for instance, through Meetup.com) - Also, those who work in such venues or deal with the admittedly broad notion of "public gaming" Participation only requires about 20 minutes of time, where the interview will be recorded through an online communication platform (Ventrilo, Skype). If cited in the text, you could choose to use your name, pseudonym, or remain anonymous. If interested or if you want more information, feel free to send me a message in game, or PM me on the forums. Thanks for reading! |
