Was looking at a computer build

But they are releasing all new toys

intel 8700k

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370

I hear a new graphics card coming. Looking like a more affordable one.

Was looking at 7700k, Maximus 9, wondering if I should wait little now.

Unless you're planning on gaming in 4K, I think the current (and even the last few) generation of tech is more than you'll need for years to come. My 980 and i7-4790 still demolish all games on max graphical settings at 2560x1440. Nothing will bottleneck you until 4K, and maybe to a lesser extent VR (although every VR game I've played is kinda crap).

If you just want to buy the bleeding edge, I suppose that's a different story.

I hadn't looked until now, but yeah. Looks like DDR4 is about twice as expensive as DDR3. From my limited reading, doesn't seem worth it either:

Though if you're buying a board that only supports DDR4, then I guess you don't have much of a choice.
