Backer beta on Monday, but apparently it's only 4-5 hours worth of gameplay. The guys at Obsidian streamed some of the game at Gamescon today/yesterday:

Game looks... ok. I was really looking forward to this one, but I'm not sure it looks any better than Divinity: Original Sin. Maybe it'll look better in person. The UI looks kinda cheap and dated too, so I hope they make that a little prettier for launch.

You can buy-in to the beta for $25 if you've already pledged (tier without backer beta). Doesn't seem worth it for a couple hours (yet)

Yeah, definitely not worth it. They said they're tracking a winter launch, which I'm interpreting as late Nov/Dec. I can wait. I pledged $35 -- dunno if that'll get me access or not. I'm assuming not.

Looks like only pledges of $110 or more get the backer beta (unless you purchase it separately). So we wait.
