If you like open world RPGs, then yes. It's a combination of the other Elder Scrolls games with strong elements from Fallout 3 and a heavy layer of consolization. I've enjoyed it so far.

I'm really enjoying it so far. I never played Fallout 3, but I can say there are definite improvements from Morrowind/Oblivion. The story is so-so, but the world is enormous with tons to do and the skill system makes for a lot of interesting playstyles.

See, I loved the Fallout series, but Oblivion didn't really do it for me. But I think i'll still give it a go.

Yeah, I hear ya. I wanted to like Morrowind and Oblivion, but they never really clicked with me either. Skyrim has addressed a couple of my bigger criticisms with the previous two.
It keeps the open-world, do-whatever-you-want-whenever-you-want style, but provides better direction for quests and following the main storyline. They also revamped the skill list, and made it a hybrid of talent trees and the classic skills. You still skill up through use, but can then spend points in each skill's tree which provides you with increased skill effects, or brand new abilities. It's a lot more interesting. Finally, I hate the first-person perspective for RPGs, and you could never zoom very far out in Morrowind/Oblivion. Skyrim lets you zoom out a good bit, which makes for a much more enjoyable 3rd person view.

Skyrim sells 3.4 million in first two days, not counting digital sales, wow.

I'm enjoying it a lot. I think I should of went straight dark brotherhood and just murdered people or tried a vampire so I couldn't come out during the day sorta like Blake's current lifestyle. Options for another run through. I really enjoy that you can make your character based on what playstyle you feel like. Thief/mage, tank/healer etc. I'm enjoying the dragon fights while it will get old after a while i'm really enjoying it. Lots of fun, I recommend to anyone that enjoys these types of games.
Btw they are working on bug fix patch, no eta. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1212532p1.html

Yeah, I'm playing through the Thieve's Guild quests now, but sneaking around isn't nearly as fulfilling if I can't assassinate someone at the end. And they seem very much against murder. I'm looking forward to joining the Dark Brotherhood.

I went with straight up fire mage with a lot of thief abilities. I can't play RPG's without being able to steal everything that isn't bolted down. My house in Megaton in Fallout 3 had so much shit in it that it'd lag my game out everytime I went in there. My guy is kind of a glass cannon, but I blow shit up good.
