Star Wars: Thoughts, Reactions

I haven't seen it yet, but people seem pretty happy with it.

It's good. Better than the prequels, imo. I really love Rey -- she was fantastic. Can't wait to see more of her. The humor is great and well balanced. The CG is seamless, and not over the top like the prequels. It definitely feels like an extension of the original movies.

My main gripe is it's basically a remake of Episode IV. I was hoping for a more original story. I could say more, but it'd be a little spoilery.

Overall, it's worth seeing.

Thats what I've been basically hearing. The response to the rehash comment has kind of been: they tried something different with the prequels and that failed. They purposefully went with something that felt familiar as a "hey look guys, we made star wars that you like, so trust us with the new stuff" move. Don't know if thats valid or even a good thing, but I can kind of see it. If thats the biggest complaint (which seems to be) then I'll be happy when I see it.
