Video Embedding Code (USE IT!)

I've just installed video embedding to the website. If your ActiveX controls are functioning, you *should* be able to use the "Video" button next to the image file when creating new posts.

Otherwise, you'll need to use straight code in the posts.

If you can embed a video, you MUST embed a video on this site. It's a little bit more typing but it will make everyone's visit more enjoyable.

How To:
Most internet videos have an "embed" link or similar link available. Use those to find the information you need to put between the codes if it's not in the URL of the video.

BREAK.COM VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[breakvideo]Mjk3ODIw[/breakvideo
You are looking for a alphanumeric combination similar to "Mjk3ODIw" which will appear after opening the embed link.

YOUTUBE VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[youtube]N560NCIsaS8[/youtube
Another easy one. Click embed, get the #, copy it to the brackets. This would produce:

GOOGLE VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[googlevideo]4134245987747704408[/googlevideo
Again, just grab the # in the URL and place it between the brackets. Example:

MYSPACE VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[myspace]1525458122[/myspace
Copy the number at the end of the URL. Easy. Example:

EBAUMS WORLD VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[ebaumsvideo]2007/05/hilarious-ventriloquist[/ebaumsvideo
This is the most complex of them. You have to go to the EMBED section to the right of the video and find the year/date/name (do not include the extension). Copying this will give something like this:

METACAFE VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[metacafe]503533/rough_cruise[/metacafe
This one requires some precise syntax but is otherwise easy. Copy the number and the title from the URL but do not include a "/" at either the beginning or the end. Example:

FILEFRONT VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[filefront]191959[/filefront
You want to find the number like "191959" in the embed link below the video. This is NOT the same number that you find in the URL; instead it occurs early in the embed source link. Example:

STAGE6 DIVX VIDEOS
PHP Code:
[stage6]3674[/stage6
These have to come from the Stage6 site itself (which most are). Find the # (for instance, "3674") early on in the object code after clicking "Share Video." Example:

If you find more...
Let me know. I can add more code to allow us to grab videos from other sites, assuming they offer embedded video.
